On the 20080412 Mars Hill Podcast, Rob Bell was talking about burmese monks and democracy, and some of it is a good thing to say and his point is good, but all I can remember is those monks walking around saying “give money to Buddha, give money to Buddha” and the worlds largest Buddhist temple covered in gold while orphan kids starve to death one block away.
I think it is one evil killing another evil. Why DO the nations rage?
Jesus is the only hope for the world. You can have your democracy, just give me Jesus.
I say millions of words everyday.
Hillary Clinton, on her excuse as to why she changed her story about her trip to Bosnia.
Man, I don’t think I’ve read a book that has forced me to re-think and repent from the way I’ve done ministry more than this book. You should go buy it from the local bookstore right now.
“Perhaps the greatest poverty of all is having nothing of value to offer the community. I want to believe that no one in my community is that poor.”

Ancient Hebrew wisdom describes four levels of charity. The highest level is to provide a job for one in need without his knowledge that you provided it. The next, lower level is to provide work that the needy one knows you provided. The third level is to give an anonymous gift to meet an immediate need. The lowest level of charity, to be avoided if at all possible, is to give a person a gift with his full knowledge that you are the donor.

I love to watch and see how Google News puts pictures with articles that don’t quite fit. This one caught my eye the other day, especially knowing that a lot of Google staff are for Ron Paul.

Right now, I’m reading “Forgotten Ways” by Alan Hirsch, I just started “Organic Church” by Neil Cole, I’m reading “The Horse and His Boy” by C.S. Lewis with my kids, Jeremiah for my Wednesday Donut Bible Study, and selections from John for some discipleship.
I think the first two will fall by the wayside when I close on my house tomorrow.
It’s time to quit reading and start doing.
I am now putting the more inane things that happen over on Tumblr.
This is the place for stuff that I come across that I just want to share or save. It may not be Bible study goodies, and some of it may not be clear at all, but it’s the stuff that I think “man, I should post that.”

And if they DID have one of those meetings there, would they get people to come to it? Wouldn’t they just riot?
